Arrival is a science fiction film directed by Denis Villeneuve, based on Ted Chiang novella Story of Your Life. The movie follows linguist Dr. Louise Banks (Amy Adams) as she is recruited by the U.S. military to communicate with mysterious extraterrestrial beings who have arrived on Earth in massive, hovering spacecraft. As global tensions rise and nations scramble to interpret the aliens intentions, Louise works with physicist Ian Donnelly (Jeremy Renner) to decipher their complex, nonlinear language. The film explores themes of time, communication, and the nature of human experience, blending intellectual depth with emotional resonance.
